The Civil Engineering Department of VVIET was started in the year 2006. The Department is highly progressive and has a team of well qualified, experienced in both Industry and academies. It has well-equipped computers and research laboratories for teaching, online classes and projects.
Department of CE is committed to impart Technical & Research based quality education and to develop innovative skills among the students and to enrich the academic activities through continual improvement in the teaching and learning processes. The department is also accredited by NBA.
The Department has an R&D Center affiliated to VTU, which is facilitating the students to acquire practical knowledge. The department has achieved a 5th and 8th rank in UG during 2012-13 and 2020-21.
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was started in the year 1997 with an intake of 60. The Department is highly progressive and has a team of well qualified, experienced in both Industry and academies.
It has well-equipped hi-end computers and research laboratories for teaching, online classes, software product development and projects. Both students and faculty provided with WI-FI enabled unlimited internet access.
The Department has an R&D Center, affiliated to VTU and an Incubation Center which is facilitating the students to acquire practical knowledge. Faculty are Google Trained experts and has undergone many training on newer technologies.
The Information Science and Engineering (ISE) department is one of the best departments in VVIET. The Department was established in 1999. The department is dynamically progressing in both academic and research activities.
The main objective of the department is “achieving academic excellence, promoting research and development, consultancy and teaching in frontier areas of Information Science & Engineering” to meet the vision and mission of VVIET.
The department is enriched with a team of top quality faculty with its energetic, motivated and dedicated teaching professionals.
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) was established in the year 1997-1998, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It offers full-time UG programme in Electronics & Communication Engineering and has a Research Center recognized by VTU, Belagavi.
The Department has qualified and experienced faculty members expertized in VLSI and Embedded systems, Digital Communication, Signal processing, Computer networks, Micro Electro Mechanical Structures [MEMS] etc. The ongoing research activities include Digital Image Processing and Computer Vision, Biomedical signal processing, Communication, MEMS, PCB Design and networking.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 1997 with affiliation to Mysore University. Presently the department is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). The present intake for the undergraduate program is 60 students. Mechanical Engineering emphasizes on Design, Materials & Manufacturing, Thermal Engineering, and also interdisciplinary areas like CAD/CAM/CAE, Automation, Operational Research, Mechatronics, FEM, Computational fluid dynamics, Managerial Aspects of Industry, etc.
The department has one of the best qualified and experienced faculty teams to cater to the needs of the students. The department has faculty members with specializations in the field of Thermal Engineering, Machine Design, Manufacturing and Management.
Since its inception in 1997, the Electrical and Electronics Engineering department has been consistently growing and proving to be the best among all the engineering colleges in the region. This is the only college under VTU which has an intake of 120 students, and presently the department has 400+ students.
From the very first batch department received 3 ranks under Mysore University and continued under VTU during, 2005 with 10th rank, 2007 with 8th rank, 2012 with 5th rank and during 2013 with 9th rank.
The department is well equipped with latest experimental setups, computational facilities with required licensed software packages and possesses departmental library with 850+ text books.
